SWHA 2026-2027 Registration Fees

The South Winnipeg Hockey Association (SWHA) is pleased to announce registration fees for the 2026-2027 hockey season.

Registration fees are based on projected team expenses, average roster sizes, player development programming, equipment costs, and league participation fees. A separate Community Centre Fee applies to all SWHA players and is remitted directly to their home community centre.

2026-2027 Registration Fees

*The $60 Community Centre Fee is collected by SWHA and forwarded directly to the player's home community centre. This fee is not part of the hockey program registration cost.

Important Registration Information

U9 Kings (A) Evaluations

Players wishing to be considered for a U9 Kings team must first register in U9 House League. Players selected to a U9 Kings team following evaluations will be assessed the applicable additional fee after team placement.

What's Included in Registration Fees?

Registration fees help cover:

• League and association registration fees
• Game ice costs
• Referee and timekeeper fees (where applicable)
• Playoff participation costs
• Hockey Canada insurance
• Player development programming
• Team equipment and supplies

Player Development Fee

A number of divisions include a $75 Player Development Fee, which supports enhanced player development initiatives delivered through Vigier Hockey.

Equipment Fee

A $35 Equipment Fee is included in registration costs and helps cover the supply, repair, and replacement of team equipment, including jerseys, pucks, pylons, and related items.

Community Centre Fee

The $60 Community Centre Fee supports the operation and maintenance of local community centre facilities and programs. This fee applies to all SWHA participants and is remitted directly to the player's home community centre.

Additional Team Expenses

Important Budgeting Notice

Registration fees cover only:

• Preseason sessions included with registration
• Regular season league games

Families should anticipate additional team-level costs throughout the season for:

• Practice ice
• Tournament entry fees
• Team apparel
• Team windups and social events
• Additional team activities

As a guideline, families should budget an additional $600–$1,000 per player, depending on age group and level of play.

Miscellaneous Fees

Fee Policies

NSF Cheque Fee

If a payment is returned due to Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF):

• A $25 NSF fee will be charged.
• Future payments must be made by credit card or money order.
• Cheque-writing privileges may be suspended until reinstated by the SWHA Board of Directors.
• Players will not be permitted on the ice until all outstanding fees are paid in full.

Refund Processing Fee

• All refund requests are subject to approval by the SWHA Registrar and/or Board of Directors.
• A minimum $25 processing fee applies to all approved refunds.
• Credit card refunds are typically processed within seven (7) days.
• Refunds issued by cheque may take up to three (3) weeks and require executive approval signatures.

Community Centre Fee

The Community Centre Fee:

• Is collected by SWHA and forwarded to the player's home community centre.
• Supports local community centre programming and facility operations.
• Is non-refundable. 

Please note: This is not a hockey program fee.

Preseason and Tryout Session Fees

When calculating a refund, SWHA will deduct any costs incurred for:

• Preseason skates attended
• Tryout sessions attended
• Scheduled games for which the player was rostered

Late Registration Fee

A $100 late registration fee applies to registrations received after the published registration deadline.

Final Refund Deadline

No refunds will be issued after December 31, 2026.
